The incident happened in Cortlandt on Monday, Jan. 16 around 8:45 a.m., when a residence caught on fire with people trapped inside.
According to the Croton-on-Hudson Fire Department, arriving crews were able to extinguish the blaze and put out hot spots while also rescuing the two victims who were trapped inside. A search for more residents came up negative, fire officials said.
The two victims were later hospitalized for burns and smoke inhalation.
The cause of the fire was not released.
